Recent works on Tidenham Tunnel to create shared use path
The Wye Valley Greenway is now open for walkers and cyclists.
The Wye Valley Greenway provides a sustainable way to explore the beautiful Lower Wye Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Here are a couple of photos taken recently during the works to open up the 143-year-old Tidenham Tunnel.
This is part of the Wye Valley Greenway project to create a shared use path for walkers and cyclists between Chepstow and Tintern.
The photos show an air shaft around 800 metres into the tunnel and you can make out the light at the end of the shaft from the surface.
